Accessibility

For an international Network, such as IofC, we shall think of accessibility to any of our Internet sites. The W3C offers guidlines for creating accessable Internet Services.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) documents explain how to make Web content accessible to people with disabilities. Web "content" generally refers to the information in a Web page or Web application, including text, images, forms, sounds, and such. (More specific definitions are available in the WCAG documents). This material is based on the April 2008 Web Content Accessibility Guidlines 2.0 of the W3C wich are at present just before final release. It is expected that they will release by the end of this summer.

Accessiblity is in many different way a sensible issue. A personal comment: f.e. the whole information about accessibilty is only presented in english. As a native german this allready makes it difficult to understand.

We might not achieve to cover all the mentioned recomondations but we certanly shall achieve as many as possible for Level A(Read more about Priority Levels).

Within this section we will document the process of achieving accessibility to our websites and related issues such as why we might not achieve one or the other recomondation.
