There are several ways in which you can choose to receive notification of new content added to a website:
(1) You can choose to receive email notification when a new item is added to the site. There are three possibilities for subscribing:
- by 'type' of content, e.g. article, book page, event, image, etc
- by 'thread' - this means you can subscribe to a particular 'page' (node) and be notified of comments that are added. Most useful for Forum topics.
- by 'author' of an item - the person who adds the item, not necessarily the person who wrote it!
You can subscribe for 1. by going to My account -> Notifications tab -> Content type
To subscribe for 2. and 3. use the links at the bottom of pages which allow subscription. Any subscription you make there will appear in your My Account -> Notifications tab under 'Thread' or 'Author'.
When subscribing you can choose the frequency of the notifications, and whether you will be notified by email sent to your email address, or by a message in your My Account -> Messages page.
You can unsubscribe at any time via your My Account -> Notifications tab, or by clicking on the unsubscribe link that comes at the bottom of emails received.
